Fish are all shapes and sizes depending on where they live. Here is Grade 4 applying what they have learned about fish adaptations- they are designing their own fish! Like every good Ichthyologist, they have labeled their fishes and taken note of their important adaptations like warning coloration, countershading, fusiform body shape, or lunate tail shape. The tables were covered with colors and field guides, and the information students collected in their notebooks all used to create wonderful fishes. Some of them I would love to discover in the ocean, some I’d be a little worried to find (like the one that has freeze breath).
